North American sports have a mass following in the UK, as anyone who saw the coverage of last weekend’s Super Bowl will know, and one in particular has taken Glasgow by storm.
Since 2010 the Braehead Arena has been home to one of Britain’s top professional ice hockey teams, with big crowds drawn to see fast-paced, hard-hitting action mixed with the essential ingredients of any American sport – music, cheerleaders, beer, hot-dogs and nachos.
Now to celebrate the launch of Clydebank Live we’ve teamed-up with Braehead Clan, Greater Glasgow’s team in the UK Elite Ice Hockey League, to give away three pairs of tickets for their crucial match with Coventry Blaze. The two clubs sit sixth and fourth in the table and their final meeting of the season is sure to be a thrilling encounter.
The game takes place in the fantastic Braehead Arena on Saturday, February 18 at 7pm and will be a tremendous experience for any sports fan.
To be in with a chance of winning all you have to do is answer this simple question:
What is the name of Greater Glasgow’s team in the UK Elite Ice Hockey League?
Send your answers by email to sport@clydebanklive.co.uk or message us on facebook. The competition closes at 6pm on Wednesday, February 15 and the editor’s decision is final.
